3:30 PM - 4:30 PM    WCC Unsinkables Swim Team - Summer WCC Unsinkables Swim Team
The W.C.C. Unsinkables is a registered U.S.A. swim team, with swimmers competing in U.S.A. swim meets throughout the season. WCCU swimmers are making a splash in the world of competitive swimming in Maine. Our  swim team begins with our Pre season swim clinic September  and will run two weeks. Maine Swim Coach of the Year 2003 and Zone Coach for 2010- 2013 Head Coach, Lori LaPointe, is returning for her 17th season. Lori’s thirty two years of professional teaching and coaching expertise in swimming, as well as coaching age group soccer and basketball both recreationally and on a travel team capacity, provide a wealth of knowledge in instructional methodology.  Assistant coach Nori McLeod, former Unsinkable swimmer and UNE college swimmer Brings a wealth of knowdge to the team!  She primarily works with the 12 and under athletes and attends most meets. Paul Lazarus rounds out this year’s staff. His passion for swimming will help bring the team to the next level of competition! Opportunities to teach beginners as well as trained athletes has generated a constant challenge to improve the teaching and coaching process.  Coach Lori’s pursuit of excellence for each of her swimmers through positive encouragement, setting obtainable goals and building a life long love for the sport of swimming, is her life time objective.  GREEN Group:  (Practice 3 times / week) 6-11 YrsThe GREEN group must know how to swim three of the four strokes, have a basic understanding of how to use the pace clock and be comfortable in simple structured sets.  Emphasis is placed on fine tuning all four strokes, turns and starts, and implementing a more structured workout set. Participation in competitive swim meets is encouraged.  WHITE Group:  Practice 3 times / week) 11-20 yrsThe WHITE group is the highest level WCCU offers. The primary focus of the Gold swimmer is to prepare for the more rigorous practices. Swimmers work on technique and efficiency, as well as swim more challenging workout sets.  This group is designed for the swimmer who  is focused on reaching their highest potential as an athlete and  thrives on a competitive spirit.  In addition to time spent on technique, the main focus of the group is an intensive training regimen. This weekly workout will be designed to give you a great cardio workout as well as a total body strength session. We will introduce new exercises and work on proper form so that you can get the most out of your workout, with us and on your own. Participants will leave class each week with the tools to have a strong, healthy week until we meet again. Weekly fitness or nutrition challenges will be assigned to help keep participants motivated and on track. A private Facebook group and/or email check ins are there to offer support and accountability throughout the challenge. This challenge is designed to help create and maintain a healthy, fit lifestyle and have fun doing it!

Friday morning swim lessons are designed for preschool aged children 3-6 years old. Our program is designed to introduce beginning swimming skills in a fun filled environment.  Swimmers will be introduced to these new skills through fun and games. They will learned how to get their face wet, go under water, float on their back and front and much more. Parents are welcome to sit pool side and watch their little swimmers learn, play and make new friends in the comforts of our warm pool. Our focus is to build a love for swimming.

ASA Registration changesRegistration will now be closed each Sunday morning for the following week. This is to ensure that we have adequate staff for our program. If you are in need of our program because of a last minute change in your schedule or an emergency please call the WCC front desk for assistance. If there is space available it will be on a first come / first serve basis with an additional cost ($5.00 late fee). It is the philosophy of the ASA program that children of all ages should have access to activities which enrich their lives and enhance their experiences. At ASA your child will have the opportunity to explore new interests and build friendships in a safe environment.  Registration / Payment is due no later than the 27th of the month for the upcoming month. Any registrations / payments made on or after the 28th of the month will be charged the late registration fee. Staff will be led by ASA Director Kristy Lincoln and a group of high school, college and adult leaders.  Camp is limited to 50 children each week.Please find camp documents linked below. All online registrations are still required to complete and return the camp registration form prior to the beginning of camp.  Thank you for your cooperation in advance. Registration for this program will begin online Wednesday,  May 1, 2019. The W.C.C. Unsinkables is a registered U.S.A. swim team, with swimmers competing in U.S.A. swim meets throughout the season. WCCU swimmers are making a splash in the world of competitive swimming in Maine. Our  swim team begins with our Pre season swim clinic September  and will run two weeks. Maine Swim Coach of the Year 2003 and Zone Coach for 2010- 2013 Head Coach, Lori LaPointe, is returning for her 17th season. Lori’s thirty two years of professional teaching and coaching expertise in swimming, as well as coaching age group soccer and basketball both recreationally and on a travel team capacity, provide a wealth of knowledge in instructional methodology.  Assistant coach Nori McLeod, former Unsinkable swimmer and UNE college swimmer Brings a wealth of knowdge to the team!  She primarily works with the 12 and under athletes and attends most meets. Paul Lazarus rounds out this year’s staff. His passion for swimming will help bring the team to the next level of competition! Opportunities to teach beginners as well as trained athletes has generated a constant challenge to improve the teaching and coaching process.  Coach Lori’s pursuit of excellence for each of her swimmers through positive encouragement, setting obtainable goals and building a life long love for the sport of swimming, is her life time objective.  GREEN Group:  (Practice 3 times / week) 6-11 YrsThe GREEN group must know how to swim three of the four strokes, have a basic understanding of how to use the pace clock and be comfortable in simple structured sets.  Emphasis is placed on fine tuning all four strokes, turns and starts, and implementing a more structured workout set. Participation in competitive swim meets is encouraged.  WHITE Group:  Practice 3 times / week) 11-20 yrsThe WHITE group is the highest level WCCU offers. The primary focus of the Gold swimmer is to prepare for the more rigorous practices. Swimmers work on technique and efficiency, as well as swim more challenging workout sets.  This group is designed for the swimmer who  is focused on reaching their highest potential as an athlete and  thrives on a competitive spirit.  In addition to time spent on technique, the main focus of the group is an intensive training regimen. This weekly workout will be designed to give you a great cardio workout as well as a total body strength session. We will introduce new exercises and work on proper form so that you can get the most out of your workout, with us and on your own. Participants will leave class each week with the tools to have a strong, healthy week until we meet again. Weekly fitness or nutrition challenges will be assigned to help keep participants motivated and on track. A private Facebook group and/or email check ins are there to offer support and accountability throughout the challenge. This challenge is designed to help create and maintain a healthy, fit lifestyle and have fun doing it!

Parents are welcome to sit pool side and watch their little swimmers learn, play and make new friends in the comforts of our warm pool. Our focus is to build a love for swimming.

The American Red Cross learn to swim program is designed to teach people how to be safe in, on or around water and to teach individuals of different ages and abilities how to swim in a positive aquatic learning environment.  The six learning levels teaches aquatic and personal water safety skills in a logical progression.  In the six levels, participants build on their basic skills to learn various propulsive movements on the front, back and side.  As the levels increase, participants learn to refine the different strokes and build endurance.  Each level includes exit skills assessments that put together many of the skills learned in the level.
 
3:30 PM - 4:30 PM    WCC Unsinkables Swim Team - Summer WCC Unsinkables Swim Team
The W.C.C. Unsinkables is a registered U.S.A. swim team, with swimmers competing in U.S.A. swim meets throughout the season. WCCU swimmers are making a splash in the world of competitive swimming in Maine. Our  swim team begins with our Pre season swim clinic September  and will run two weeks. Maine Swim Coach of the Year 2003 and Zone Coach for 2010- 2013 Head Coach, Lori LaPointe, is returning for her 17th season. Lori’s thirty two years of professional teaching and coaching expertise in swimming, as well as coaching age group soccer and basketball both recreationally and on a travel team capacity, provide a wealth of knowledge in instructional methodology.  Assistant coach Nori McLeod, former Unsinkable swimmer and UNE college swimmer Brings a wealth of knowdge to the team!  She primarily works with the 12 and under athletes and attends most meets. Paul Lazarus rounds out this year’s staff. His passion for swimming will help bring the team to the next level of competition! Opportunities to teach beginners as well as trained athletes has generated a constant challenge to improve the teaching and coaching process.  Coach Lori’s pursuit of excellence for each of her swimmers through positive encouragement, setting obtainable goals and building a life long love for the sport of swimming, is her life time objective.  GREEN Group:  (Practice 3 times / week) 6-11 YrsThe GREEN group must know how to swim three of the four strokes, have a basic understanding of how to use the pace clock and be comfortable in simple structured sets.  Emphasis is placed on fine tuning all four strokes, turns and starts, and implementing a more structured workout set. Participation in competitive swim meets is encouraged.  WHITE Group:  Practice 3 times / week) 11-20 yrsThe WHITE group is the highest level WCCU offers. The primary focus of the Gold swimmer is to prepare for the more rigorous practices. Swimmers work on technique and efficiency, as well as swim more challenging workout sets.  This group is designed for the swimmer who  is focused on reaching their highest potential as an athlete and  thrives on a competitive spirit.  In addition to time spent on technique, the main focus of the group is an intensive training regimen. Lori’s thirty two years of professional teaching and coaching expertise in swimming, as well as coaching age group soccer and basketball both recreationally and on a travel team capacity, provide a wealth of knowledge in instructional methodology.  Assistant coach Nori McLeod, former Unsinkable swimmer and UNE college swimmer Brings a wealth of knowdge to the team!  She primarily works with the 12 and under athletes and attends most meets. Paul Lazarus rounds out this year’s staff. His passion for swimming will help bring the team to the next level of competition! Weekly fitness or nutrition challenges will be assigned to help keep participants motivated and on track. A private Facebook group and/or email check ins are there to offer support and accountability throughout the challenge. The W.C.C. Unsinkables is a registered U.S.A. swim team, with swimmers competing in U.S.A. swim meets throughout the season. WCCU swimmers are making a splash in the world of competitive swimming in Maine. Our  swim team begins with our Pre season swim clinic September  and will run two weeks. Maine Swim Coach of the Year 2003 and Zone Coach for 2010- 2013 Head Coach, Lori LaPointe, is returning for her 17th season. Lori’s thirty two years of professional teaching and coaching expertise in swimming, as well as coaching age group soccer and basketball both recreationally and on a travel team capacity, provide a wealth of knowledge in instructional methodology.  Assistant coach Nori McLeod, former Unsinkable swimmer and UNE college swimmer Brings a wealth of knowdge to the team!  She primarily works with the 12 and under athletes and attends most meets. Paul Lazarus rounds out this year’s staff. His passion for swimming will help bring the team to the next level of competition! Opportunities to teach beginners as well as trained athletes has generated a constant challenge to improve the teaching and coaching process.  Coach Lori’s pursuit of excellence for each of her swimmers through positive encouragement, setting obtainable goals and building a life long love for the sport of swimming, is her life time objective.  GREEN Group:  (Practice 3 times / week) 6-11 YrsThe GREEN group must know how to swim three of the four strokes, have a basic understanding of how to use the pace clock and be comfortable in simple structured sets.  Emphasis is placed on fine tuning all four strokes, turns and starts, and implementing a more structured workout set. Participation in competitive swim meets is encouraged.  WHITE Group:  Practice 3 times / week) 11-20 yrsThe WHITE group is the highest level WCCU offers. The primary focus of the Gold swimmer is to prepare for the more rigorous practices. Swimmers work on technique and efficiency, as well as swim more challenging workout sets.  This group is designed for the swimmer who  is focused on reaching their highest potential as an athlete and  thrives on a competitive spirit.  In addition to time spent on technique, the main focus of the group is an intensive training regimen. This weekly workout will be designed to give you a great cardio workout as well as a total body strength session. We will introduce new exercises and work on proper form so that you can get the most out of your workout, with us and on your own. Participants will leave class each week with the tools to have a strong, healthy week until we meet again. Weekly fitness or nutrition challenges will be assigned to help keep participants motivated and on track. A private Facebook group and/or email check ins are there to offer support and accountability throughout the challenge. This challenge is designed to help create and maintain a healthy, fit lifestyle and have fun doing it!

The American Red Cross learn to swim program is designed to teach people how to be safe in, on or around water and to teach individuals of different ages and abilities how to swim in a positive aquatic learning environment.  The six learning levels teaches aquatic and personal water safety skills in a logical progression.  In the six levels, participants build on their basic skills to learn various propulsive movements on the front, back and side.  As the levels increase, participants learn to refine the different strokes and build endurance.  Each level includes exit skills assessments that put together many of the skills learned in the level.

This weekly workout will be designed to give you a great cardio workout as well as a total body strength session. We will introduce new exercises and work on proper form so that you can get the most out of your workout, with us and on your own. Participants will leave class each week with the tools to have a strong, healthy week until we meet again. Weekly fitness or nutrition challenges will be assigned to help keep participants motivated and on track. A private Facebook group and/or email check ins are there to offer support and accountability throughout the challenge. This challenge is designed to help create and maintain a healthy, fit lifestyle and have fun doing it!
