12:00pm — 3:30pm
Ages 11 – 15 Years old
The W.C.C. Junior Lifeguard Challenge emphasizes teamwork, leadership and aquatic safety while emphasizing safe practices in and around the water.
This program is designed to provide water safety education while improving physical conditioning, increased understanding and respect for the environment and respect for themselves and their peers. Safety is the primary concern throughout the program. The goals of the challenge are accomplished through instruction and practice. These skills are reinforced through “In water” scenarios using surfboards, kayaks and rescue tubs. Self-rescues, team back boarding and water challenges round out each day.
This program is wonderful for children that swim, kayak, canoe, thinking of trying either or just spend time near the water. It is also a great opportunity for children that might want to become a lifeguard in the future. This program is open to children of all skill levels.
Participants learn lifelong skills and to be proactive instead of reactive!
